But, not one to follow the trend, Meghan Markle is reportedly ditching the luxurious maternity wing for something a little more intimate when she and Prince Harry have their first baby next year.

Yep, a source revealed to Vanity Fair that Meghan has been looking into different options and could even be considering a home birth.

However, given this is her first child doctors will likely advise a hospital birth. So, the Lindo Wing isn’t completely out of the picture.

Both Harry and Prince Williams were born at the Lindo Wing and Kate Middleton gave birth to all three of her children there.

If Meghan decides to give birth somewhere else, this would be a huge departure from royal tradition.

Palace aides are yet to comment on the location of the birth, which could mean that the couple are still undecided.

The couple are hopeful that they will be settled in their new Windsor home of Frogmore Cottage ahead of the birth next year. So, it is possible that they may consider a hospital closer to Windsor.

Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland is also expected to play a big role in the new baby’s life and will be close by to help out the new parents.

“Doria plans to be around a lot when the baby arrives, and there are plans for her to have a dedicated space at their new home,” a source told Vanity Fair.

“She wants to be on hand to help Meghan and Harry with the baby. Doria will be involved and if she’s involved she will be encouraging Meg to go for a natural birth.”
