King Charles. 75, is back in a big way. After months of undergoing cancer treatment, doctors have cleared the monarch to travel, with the palace finalising plans for official visits to Australia and Samoa in October. But King Charles has a very important personal trip on his agenda – a visit to his son Prince Harry.
Royal expert Tom Quinn has revealed Charles is “in discussions” to fly to California and visit Harry, in an attempt to ease the tension that has gripped his family since 2018.
Tom predicts a “discreet, private visit” to Harry, Meghan Markle and their children’s Montecito home.
“He is desperate to see them and hates the idea that Archie and Lilibet will not remember him as the warm, friendly grandfather he wants to be,” he told UK paper The Mirror.

New Idea understands there is a gap in the King’s schedule next month, where a trip to the US could be slotted. Harry spent a short time with his father in London earlier this year when his diagnosis was announced, but it’s understood the pair didn’t broach the topic of tensions within the family.
“Now, Charles is feeling a little better and he knows this is the showdown that has to happen,” an insider exclusively tells New Idea.
“This feud has gone on for far too long, and Charles is anxious to sort it out – but he knows it has to be on Harry and Meghan’s home turf, particularly if he wants to see the grandchildren.”
Harry, 39, is reticent to visit the UK with his children after his royal security detail was removed. However, it’s been reported that Harry’s hostility with his father has cooled in recent months.

“He will be open to hosting his father,” a California-based source tells New Idea. “He’s relieved Charles seems to want to make the effort.”
Closer to home, though, Charles is facing resistance from both Queen Camilla and the Prince of Wales.
“William can’t understand why Charles would be going out on a limb like this,” says our source.
“Camilla is against the trip more for health reasons. The Australia tour in October is going to be a lot for a man of his age with cancer, let alone an emotional transatlantic journey to visit his estranged son.”
