It was supposed to be the happiest day of her life, but Kate Middleton was reduced to tears just days before her wedding to Prince William after a big wedding secret hit the press.
The Duchess of Cambridge was reportedly determined to keep the design and fashion house behind her spectacular wedding gown a secret until the big day, which caused never-ending speculation back in 2011.
However, just within a few days of Kate and the Duke of Cambridge’s Royal wedding, the big secret was leaked to the press, breaking Kate’s heart.

The press reported that it was Alexander McQueen’s Sarah Burton who was designing the dress, and while Ms Burton firmly denied it at the time, Kate’s big secret was out.
“Behind the scenes I think that caused tears at the Palace because Kate had done everything she could to keep the wedding dress a secret,” royal expert Katie Nicholl said in the new Secrets of the Royal Dressmakers documentary.

Despite the devastation, the design itself was not leaked, with many people calling it one of the most beautiful royal wedding gowns ever made.

While everyone was delighted at the news, it has been revealed that Princess Eugenie nearly ruined the moment, accidentally revealing the engagement on her Instagram one week before the official statement was released.
Despite the faux pas, Eugenie still took to social media last week to share her excitement over the happy news, writing: “Beabea – wow! I’m so happy for you my dearest big sissy and dear Edo. It’s been a long time coming and you two are meant to be.”
Fergie – mother to Eugenie and Beatrice – also shared her own tribute to daughter Beatrice and her new fiance.
Fergie wrote: “I know what a mother feels so I have tears of joy. I am so proud of this sensational news. Andrew and I are just the luckiest people ever to have two great sons in law.”
