For anyone, being asked about an ex is always awkward. For poor Prince William, it was in front of an entire media circuit.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, who had been married since 2011, split briefly in 2007 before getting back together just weeks later.
During their break, a reporter was filmed asking a bemused William, “How are things going with Kate” at a press conference ahead of a Princess Diana memorial concert – and now it’s resurfaced online.

In the awkward moment, which also features Prince Harry and singer Joss Stone, the Australian reporter asks: “Tell us about the friends you’ve got coming along to the concert, I understand Kate will be joining you, how are things going with Kate?”
“Er, well er, I’ve got lots of friends coming, everyone’s going to be there on the night and it’s going to be a great night basically,” a flustered William responded.
Prince Harry, who was erupting with laughter, said, “Very well avoided William.”
Will responded: “Very diplomatic.”
Kate did attend the memorial concert, however she wasn’t seated with the royal bothers.
Harry’s girlfriend at the time, Chelsy Davy, was spotted seated alongside the pair.
William and Kate have now been married for seven years, and share three children – Prince George, 5, Princess Charlotte, 3, and Prince Louis, 8-months.
The couple met at St Andrews College in Scotland.
