Natalie Wood death case: police making shocking announcement

40-years on from the Hollywood starlets tragic passing.

Almost 40 years after Natalie Wood’s mysterious death, Los Angeles police officials have claimed that Robert Wagner is ‘more of a person of interest’ in the case, PEOPLE reports.

John Corina, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Lieutenant, told CBS’ 48 Hours, ‘As we’ve investigated the case over the last six years, I think he’s more of a person of interest now.

‘I mean, we now know that he was the last person to be with Natalie before she disappeared.’

The Hollywood star was married to Wagner twice — first in 1957, until they divorced five years later, and again in 1972 until her death.

When asked if Wood’s death was a murder rather than a tragic accident, Corina said, ‘I think it’s suspicious enough to make us think that something happened.’

Wood passed away in November of 1981, when the 43-year-old was sailing with her husband on their yacht. Christopher Walken, Wood’s then-costar in the movie Brainstorm, and the boat’s captain, Dennis Davern, were also on board.

At the time, her death was classified as an accidental drowning, but the case was reopened in 2011.

Wagner has not yet responded to the Los Angeles Sheriff Department’s latest claims.
