How much is too much to spend on a marriage proposal?
When it comes to Sydneysider Robbie Hayek, the sky is the limit!
The 23-year-old spent six months planning the ultimate proposal in an effort to sweep girlfriend of almost five years Clarice Maatouk off her feet.
The extravagant affair, which included a Lamborghini ride, a trip in a helicopter, a saxophonist to serenade them and 250 white roses – one for every week the hopeful groom-to-be has known his lady love – cost a staggering $50,000.
And that’s not including the price of the ring he eventually dropped to one knee to present Clarice with – a stunning 2.5 carat pear-shaped design worth more than $15,000.
So was it all worth it?
An overwhelmed Clarice no doubt thought so, giving a resounding ‘Yes!’ to her boyfriend’s proposal.
