Roo (Georgie Parker) is initially shocked and rattled after the incident, but relieved that no permanent damage has been done. But later that day, the Bay stalwart collapses. ‘It’s pretty clear something is very wrong,’ Georgie reveals to New Idea.

‘She is very keen to play it down, but in the end, it’s obvious that there is a serious problem.’

After a traumatic accident, everyone is worried Roo has suffered permanent damage.

Alf (Ray Meagher) rushes her to the hospital and examinations reveal that Roo has a fractured vertebrae.

It’s been a rough few months for Roo – she collapsed earlier this year after suffering an ectopic pregnancy.

‘Roo has had her ups and downs physically, but this knocks her for six,’ Georgie explains.

‘And this time around, she has terrible nerve pain that proves to be very distressing.’

After several tests, Roo is left with two life-altering choices – spinal surgery, which may make her a paraplegic, or to suffer from chronic pain for the rest of her life.

Will Roo be able to get the treatment she needs?
