Married at First Sight has honoured the late Mel Schilling by sharing her powerful advice after the sad news of her death.
The expert passed away on March 24 after a battle with cancer, surrounded by her loved ones.
One day later, Channel Nine shared a special tribute to Mel at the end of the dinner party episode, documenting Mel’s poignant words to contestants over the years.
In the clip, she sat on the couch during one of the Commitment Ceremonies to address what happened between a group of brides, giving some touching advice.
“Not to make comparisons between men and women and who does it better,” she said.

“I just hope that there’s some insight here with the ladies that yes, in the future you are going to be in contact with other women who have strong personalities, that have strong judgements about you, or opinions about you.
“But that doesn’t mean that you have to play dirty.”
Throughout the clip, Mel also welcomed the brides to one of the Hen’s Nights, and there are clips of her smiling, laughing, and dancing.
Not only that, but it also showcased moments between couples who are still together, contestants walking to their weddings, and dramatic moments from over the years.
“As a woman, I think it’s important that we support each other. That we empower each other. That we don’t compete with each other,” she continued.
“That we give other women an opportunity to shine. Just like we do. And that does not take away any of our power.”
After it aired, fans took to social media and shared their sadness over her passing.
“Hard to watch 💔 Such a massive light dimmed way too early. A true powerhouse of a woman and inspiration to us all ✨,” 2023 bride Melinda Willis.
“She was the definition of a powerful, beautiful, intelligent, strong, courageous woman 🩷,” another fan wrote.
“She was everything a woman should be. Such a beautiful soul 💕💔,” a third added.
The tribute followed an emotional message given by John Aiken at the start of the episode.
“She was someone that could light up a room,” he said.

“She was full of joy. Had a huge smile. And whenever she was on set, everyone lifted. She brought fun and joy, humour.
“She also brought an authenticity which we all loved to be around. It was such a delight to watch her shine.
“She was a fighter. She was a leader. She was an inspiration. Never complained. Just rolled her sleeves up and got on with things.
“Someone that has menat so much to all of us. And it’s not fair. Married at First Sight won’t be the same without her.”
He then sent his thoughts and prayers to her husband, Gareth Brisbane, and daughter, Maddie.
At the end, a message came up on the screen that said she was “a beloved member of our team, she will always be part of the Married at First Sight family.”
