Chris Hemsworth has revealed what it felt like saying goodbye to his iconic character Thor after filming for the final installment of the legendary Avengers franchise wrapped last year.
Speaking to KIIS 106.5‘s Kyle and Jackie O from Bali, he joked: “It wasn’t until weeks after that I realised I was unemployed.”
LISTEN to hear what else the hunky heartthrob had to say about Thor!
“There was certainly a bittersweet quality to the whole wrapping up of it all – it was 10 years of my life, you know. It’s been the most prominent character and film journey I’ve been on, I’ve a huge amount of pride [for it].
“It was kind of like high school, saying goodbye to everyone and saying goodbye to my character. I just loved [playing] that character.”
The Marvel star said he’s held onto some of Thor’s trademark props including his beloved hammer, which he plans to auction for charity.
Chris also revealed his wife, Spanish model Elsa Pataky, is sick of his constant shirtless appearances on screen, joking: “She’s just like, put your clothes on!”
The father-of-three opened up about the anxiety he experienced after agreeing to appear in the reboot of Men in Black, his new film with Liam Neeson and Tessa Thompson.
“There’s always a certain amount of anxiety stepping onto something that’s so beloved and pre-established.
“The idea was never to remake what they had done – it was just a continuation,” he said, hinting the original actors might make an appearance in the future.
Chris also talked about how differently the paparazzi operate in hectic, fast-paced Hollywood and bohemian Byron Bay.
“[In Byron] it’s definitely a lot less. In LA, they stand two feet in front of you and yell and try get all sorts of reactions,” he laughed.
