Princess Anne once stormed out of an interview after being quizzed on a particularly sensitive topic.

The incident occurred back in 2013 during the filming of a Amazon Prime Documentary titled ‘Royalty Close Up: The Photography of Kent Gavin’.

Gavin recalls the daughter of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip to always be “a little difficult” and recalled an interview that was set up for the Save the Children Fund.

Gavin said: “I’d just got back from Africa on a two-and-a-half week tour with her and she never got anywhere near picking up babies, like Princess Diana did.”

The cameraman was perplexed as to why there were no questions addressing this, adding: “There’s something missing here.

“We do need to ask why she never picked up a baby, because that picture would go round the world as much the same as Diana’s used to do.”

The reporter replied: “How am I going to do that? If I throw that question in, the interview’s over.”
Gavin insisted: “Put it in at the end.”

On the interview day, the question was asked and Anne did not take it well.

She reportedly replied: “He asked you to say that, didn’t he?

“I don’t do things like that, like other members of the family do. And he knows that!”

Anne then left the room in a huff.

The news comes days after it was reported that Anne’s father Philip wants her to take over the Royal Marines after Harry moves on.

The Duke of Sussex and his wife Meghan Markle revealed their decision to step down as senior royals and split their time between the UK and Canada.

Royal watcher Brian Hoey revealed to The Sun: “Princess Anne is already Admiral Chief Commandant of the Royal Navy and the Duke believes she would be the perfect choice for the Marines.”

“When Prince Philip stepped down in 2017 he was delighted that Afghan veteran Harry would take over from him.”

“But he believes Prince Harry has let down the Royal Marines by quitting after just two years.”

“He would like Anne to take over.”
