Pink‘s husband Carey Hart has opened up about the “intense” coronavirus symptoms his wife and their son Jameson both experienced.

Speaking during a phone interview with SiriusXM’s The Jason Ellis Show he confessed the family went through a frightening ordeal.
“It was intense. They both got extremely sick. My son probably got the worst of the two of them, which debunked the whole theory that this only hit old people,” Hart said.
“My wife got it pretty bad as well. She has asthma. It totally attacked her lungs and her chest. She was having a hard time breathing,” the father of two said of the 40-year-old singer’s pre-existing condition.
Carey said the whole family had been in lockdown together since March 11.
“We’ve been on full quarantine since March 11. My family, they hadn’t even left our house just because … there’s not much reason to leave our house, we’re just kind of homebodies. They’ve been pretty locked down since the 3rd or 4th of last month,” he shared.
“I got home the 11th and they got started getting sick three or four days later. We did stay up in our farm for the most part of it.”
“When I got home on the 11th, we went full-blown lockdown, I mean nobody in, nobody out. Because at that time, we were assuming, ‘Hey, we live in a small town,’ and my wife and kids hadn’t gone anywhere,” Hart said.
“I came home, I wasn’t showing any symptoms. So we were going this route that most people are in that is we don’t want to get this and we are going into full lockdown.”
However, despite their preparations, Pink and their three-year-old son Jameson became ill.
“The symptoms started to kick up, we probably stayed home for another 10 days and then my son took a turn for the worse. He’d have extremely high body temperature, I mean he was up around 102, 103, for a solid two, going on three weeks straight. The kid was in the bath four or five times a day trying to break his temperature,” Hart recalled.
“Then, Alecia was progressively getting worse. So finally we made the decision to head down to our little place in L.A. to be closer to our paediatrician and my wife’s doctor. We ended up down in L.A. for five days and then once their symptoms started to break and get behind us, we came back home.”
Carey confessed that he and their eight-year-old daughter Willow Sage have “zero symptoms,” also said son Jameson has not been tested for the coronavirus.
“Unfortunately, we only had access to a test for my wife. Not that I don’t really feel we needed more, because we figure the four of us on top of each other for a couple of weeks at this point, one of us has it, we all have it at this point. You kind of have to assume that. We just took the lead on my wife’s test,” he said.
The details come after last week, Pink opened up about the “scary” reality of dealing with coronavirus, after recently revealing she tested positive for COVID-19.
After announcing in an Instagram post on Sunday that she tested positive for the virus two weeks ago, she opened up further about the devastating effect of COVID-19 on her family, particularly her three-year-old son, Jameson.
While she didn’t explicitly confirm whether her son tested positive in the post, she indicated this was the case during an Instagram live chat with her friend and author Jen Pastiloff.
Pink explained that she and her son “have been really, really sick,” adding that Jameson “has had the worst of it.”
“There were many nights when I’ve cried and I’ve never prayed more in my life,” the mum of two shared.
“It’s funny, but at one point, I thought they promised us our kids would be okay. It’s not guaranteed. There is no one that is safe from this.”
Pink said that while she and Jameson both got sick, her husband Carey Hart and their eight-year-old daughter Willow have been OK.
“Jameson has been really, really sick,” she said.
“I’ve kept a journal of his symptoms for the past three weeks and mine as well. He still, three weeks later, has a 100 temperature. It’s been a rollercoaster for both of us, but Carey and Willow have been perfectly fine.”
Pink said that while her and Jameson’s conditions have since improved, the mother-son pair have not fully recovered yet.
“We’re better than we were,” she said.
“Last week I was on Nebulisers. I’ve had asthma really bad, had it for my whole life. It got really, really scary, I’m not gonna lie. In the beginning, all we were hearing was ‘If you’re young, this is 65 and older, all of the kids are fine.’ ”
“Yes I have asthma, but Jameson, he’s three, he’s perfectly fine,” Pink continued. “We live in the country, right. The worst thing that attacks us here is pollen or mountain lion. But he’s been really, really sick and it’s scary. He’s been up and down and I’ve been on nebulisers for the first time in 30 years and that’s been really scary for me.”
The star added, “I’m hoping we are out of the woods but this thing is a rollercoaster. Just when you think you are better, something else happens.”
Pink’s Instagram live chat came after the singer shared a lengthy post on social media where she revealed that two weeks ago, she and her three-year-old son Jameson had been showing symptoms for COVID-19, and she tested positive.
“Two weeks ago my three-year old son, Jameson, and I are were showing symptoms of COVID-19. Fortunately, our primary care physician had access to tests and I tested positive,” she wrote alongside a snap of herself and her son.
“My family was already sheltering at home and we continued to do so for the last two weeks following the instruction of our doctor. Just a few days ago we were re-tested and are now thankfully negative.”
Pink then went on to slam the US government for dropping the ball when it comes to coronavirus screening.
“It is an absolute travesty and failure of our government to not make testing more widely accessible. This illness is serious and real,” she wrote.
“People need to know that the illness affects the young and old, healthy and unhealthy, rich and poor, and we must make testing free and more widely accessible to protect our children, our families, our friends and our communities.”
The mother-of-two then went on to pledge $500,000 (A$834,000) to the Temple University Hospital Emergency Fund in Philadelphia where her mother, Judy, worked. She also announced that a further $500,000 would go to LA’s Emergency COVID-19 crisis fund.
“THANK YOU to all of our healthcare professionals and everyone in the world who are working so hard to protect our loved ones,” she said.
“You are our heroes! These next two weeks are crucial: please stay home. Please. Stay. Home.”
