Nicole Kidman confirms upsetting news for fans

Nicole Kidman has confirmed some sad news for Big Little Lies fans.

The 51-year-old revealed there are no plans for a third season of the hit HBO show.

“There’s no plan for it. This was a long shoot for us, an enormous amount of work, we’re amazed we can be here,” Kidman clarified.

The show’s writer David E. Kelley also revealed there were currently “no plan” in the works for a third season.

On Friday, network executives announced at the Television Critics Association tour that Big Little Lies will return for its second season this June.

The series is based on a book of the same name by Liane Moriarty, which centres around wealthy mothers in Northern California whose children all attend the same school.

HBO says that season two of the hit show will be an “exploration of the malignancy of lies, the durability of friendships, the fragility of marriage and, of course, the vicious ferocity of sound parenting.”

“Relationships will fray, loyalties will erode… the potential for emotional and bodily injury shall loom.”

Kidman and Witherspoon will both act as executive producers.

HBO released a teaser clip, giving fans a glimpse of the shows new star Meryl Streep. The actress plays the mother-in-law of Nicole Kidman’s character Celeste.
