Morning TV show host Karl Stefanovic walked off the Today set Friday morning just 40 minutes after the show started.
Karl had been feeling sick all morning, coughing since the show started at 5:30am, so decided he had to leave early to try and recover.
Co-host Georgie Parker even joked about Karl providing her with a sick-note to get her permission to leave.
She said: ‘You’ve presented me with a sick note a little earlier, and I’ve a good read, and I think I might give you permission to go home.”
“Ah, thanks… I don’t feel very well,” Karl responded, before Georgie told him that she didn’t want to ‘share his germs’.
Newsreader Deborah Knight then told the TV presenter to go home and get to bed, with Karl grabbing a box of tissues and walking off the set moments later.
