Karl Stefanovic mounted a horse… and this happened

The Today Show host appeared in jovial spirits

Today Show host Karl Stefanovic climbed aboard a horse on Monday – as Channel 9 launched its Farm Aid Live Telethon from Dubbo, NSW, to help Australian farmers.

In a post from the Today Show Instagram page, Karl could be seen wearing jeans, a jacket, scarf and shiny leather shoes on a chestnut horse.

‘Howdy,’ the photo was captioned simply.

Karl wasn’t wearing a helmet for his horseback adventure – rather he held aloft a wide-brimmed hat.

But while some commenters were quick to declare that he looked just like a ‘cowboy’, others had a tongue-in-cheek reaction to the breakfast TV host’s stance.

‘Your position should be shoulder, hip and heel all lined up,’ wrote one person, appearing to give Karl some lessons on his riding technique.

‘Did the horse move?’ wrote another commenter cheekily.

‘Such a show off,’ wrote someone else, along with a sad-face emoji.

‘I bet that’s the most timid beast that you have ridden in a while Karl,’ wrote another fan, while someone else wrote: ‘Ride em Cowboy’.

The cheeky comments came after a difficult week for Karl.

Last week his ex-wife Cassandra Thorburn launched a blistering attack on her former husband, claiming the Stefanovic family has all but abandoned her and the kids since the couple’s bitter divorce – a claim that no doubt heaped strain on the Today host.

But Karl seemed in jovial spirits as he headed to rural NSW for the fundraising efforts.

On Sunday he posted a photo of he and fellow TV stalwart Richard Wilkins flying ‘economy’ to Instagram.

‘When Dicky flies economy he very much likes to slip under the radar,’ Karl wrote.

Luckily the pair appeared to be situated near the exit .

‘Exit seats on economy is basically business lol,’ advised one fan.
