While most musicians prefer to practice their craft in the comfort of a recording studio, it seems Katy Perry is cut from a decidedly different cloth to the rest.
The American songstress shocked fans by performing her new single Never Really Over in a bathroom and taping the jam session for social media.

Supported by her band and back-up singers, the Teenage Dream hitmaker shared the hilarious clip on Instagram TV on Monday night with the caption: “🚽🎤POTTY JAMS🎤🚽: Never Really Over. My bands always down for the weirdest s**t, pun intended 🤷🏼♀️”
Poking fun at her line of work, the singer repeats the words “big breath!” between lines instead of following vocal breathing techniques.
The video quickly amassed more than 7 million views and hundreds of comments from fans praising the singer for never taking herself too seriously.
Katy’s friend human rights activist Markus Molinari said “I’ve never loved anything more!” while international DJ Zedd shared a crown emoji under the post.
It’s been an exciting year for Perry.
The release of Never Really Over on May 31 marked her first new music since 2017, and big things are also happening in her personal life.
Katy announced her engagement to on-off longtime love Orlando Bloom in February, and proved she’s more than ready to slot in to a modern family dynamic by befriending her fiancé’s ex-wife, Australian model Miranda Kerr.
Last month, Katy attended the launch of Miranda’s new KORA skincare collection and shared a sweet shot with the pregnant catwalk queen on Instagram.
