Could you imagine a top-rated show devoting on-air time to an anonymous caller describing a female celebrity’s most intimate area?
No? Neither could I, and for that I am grateful.
But this morning listeners of KIIS FM’s Kyle and Jackie O Show were treated to a woman – identified only as “Lucy” – who recounted her close friend’s alleged sexual encounter with the new star of The Bachelor, Nick ‘Honey Badger’ Cummins.
Not only invading his underpants by sharing details of his private parts, the discussion also included a disparaging review of his alleged sexual performance.
‘Let’s just say that he is not little down there,’ Lucy gushed, before adding that the Honey Badger was ‘like, blown-out-of-the water big’.
For some reason that wasn’t clear enough for Kyle Sandilands, who blurted, ‘He’s got a massive schlong is what you are saying?’
Not satisfied with that little episode of TMI (too much information), “Lucy” proceeded to slam the future TV star’s bedroom technique. Like she was even there at the time to judge!
In this day and age of greater awareness surrounding issues of sexual impropriety and body image, why would anyone ring in with such a revoltingly invasive story?
And what about the commonsense reality that, whether you’re sleeping with The Bachelor or your totally non-famous husband of 30 years, discussing an intimate encounter in this kind of detail, with the whole world, is a nasty betrayal of trust?
Given how badly past seasons of The Bachelor have ended for the blokes, the Honey Badger should probably expect worse humiliations to come. Let’s hope he’s got a tough hide.
