Step 1
Cook pasta in a stockpot of boiling, salted water until tender. Drain, reserving ²⁄³ cup of the cooking water.
Step 2
Meanwhile, heat an oiled, large, deep, non-stick frying pan over a high heat. Add beef, bacon, onion, garlic, herbs and stock cube.
Step 3
Cook, stirring to break up mince, for about 5 mins, or until browned. Add tomato paste. Cook, stirring, for 1 min.
Step 4
Stir in pasta sauce and reserved cooking water. Bring to boil. Reduce heat. Gently boil, stirring occasionally, for 5-8 minutes, until thickened. Season with salt and pepper.
Step 5
Spoon sauce over pasta. Sprinkle with parmesan.
