The jury of five men and seven women took less than two hours to come to the unanimous decision that Jarratt, now 66, did not rape the woman in 1976.
The accuser alleged he had assaulted her in the house he shared with her, then wife Rosa Miano and one other person.
The women went to police in 2017, claiming she was attacked when Jarratt entered her bedroom at 3AM. She says he ripped off her bed covers and underwear, pinned her down and raped her.
‘He unzipped his fly and inserted his penis into me,’ she testified. ‘He pinned me down with his legs and his body. His hand on my mouth. And his other arm holding my arms down.
‘He was whispering in my ear ‘you’re just like a blonde Rosa’. He said it three or four times.’
He says the sex was consensual and she had seduced him, calling her claims a ‘scandalous lie’.
