As Ibby and Romel prepared to cook in the My Kitchen Rules Instant Kitchen on the Feb. 6 episode, Romel spoke to New Idea about the plastic surgery rumours MKR ‘villain’ Josh started – and gets VERY candid in the process.
“Look, I think my approach on that whole thing is if something bothers you, then f**k it, you can afford it then go and have it lifted, have it cut out,” Romel told New Idea.
“Do whatever you need to do. I think, look, my whole thing on plastic surgery is, look, on the show, I think when I told everybody that I was 42, everybody was a little bit surprised, and everyone was like “What have you had done? What have you had done? What have you had done?” I can honestly genuinely hands on my heart tell you that I’ve never altered anything on my face,” he adds.
Romel does admit to a few Botox injections however.
“Have I had Botox? Sure? F**k, who hasn’t? Have I had my lips done? I swear to God no. If you look at my sister, if you have a look at my mom, if you have a look at my dad, if you have a look at my entire family, we all have big lips.
“There’s nothing in my lips whatsoever. No, I wouldn’t go that far. But I’ve not altered anything. I broke my nose when I was 17, 18. So I had my nose done, but that was more medical,” he adds.
“I had a septoplasty because I couldn’t breathe out of one nostril. So I had that done, but I haven’t altered my exterior because I wasn’t happy. No, not at all. I’ve had braces, but who hasn’t had braces? I think looking good is extremely important.
“The reason why I say that is when you look in the mirror or when you go out and you buy a brand new outfit and you wear it, you exude a sense of confidence that you didn’t have before putting on that outfit, or before you got your new hairstyle or your new eyeshadow or your brand new shoes.”
