On Wednesday night’s dramatic episode of MAFS, Jessika tries to husband swap with Nic — before trying it on with Dan — but Nic turns her down.
But New Idea has gained access to exclusive Whatsapp messages revealing Nic was set up by producers!
Revealing just how orchestrated the dating experiment really is, Nic and his co-stars can be seen discussing the ‘scenes’ on the show.
In the Whatsapp chat hilariously titled ‘East Coast MAFS rampage’, Nic can be seen filling in his mates about the set-up.
“They made Jess havw [sic] a 1 on 1 with me and stuff, but I shut it down and said I am married and I don’t think this is appropriate and they let us go back,” Nic says.
“Buddy, they’ll play that for sure. How long did the scene go for?” Mike asks.
A third, unnamed contestant also congratulates Nick on shutting the situation down.
New Idea’s inside source confirms the conversation was a set-up, with producers recruiting Jess to stir up trouble.
“Apparently, after the others left they were desperate for a couple swap and Jess was on board to create drama,” our source reveals.
“They [producers] purposely tried to break them [Nic and Cyrell and Jessika and Mick] up.”
However, our insider was quick to point out Nic wasn’t entirely innocent in the situation, either.
“Nic knew it would look bad on TV so he said no. He is hoping it’s going to make him a hero.”
