Thanks to slamming her on-screen husband and flirting outrageously with someone else’s, Davina Rankin’s relationship with Ryan Gallagher was doomed from the start.
And now we can exclusively reveal the real reason the Instagram model doesn’t need any of the on-screen men in her life – she already has her own man on stand-by.
Waiting in the wings to sweep her off her feet is handsome blond Rob, who adores the controversial star.
The genetically blessed pair have been close for many years, with forward-thinking Davina devising their secret baby pact.
Planning to have children together if they both find themselves single in the future, her best mate’s support has given the Queenslander confidence to continue her ‘three week turnaround’, when dating.
‘Because she knows she has a back-up plan, it’s given her this sense of freedom to be extra picky,’ an insider tells New Idea. ‘Some may think it’s brutal, but she doesn’t see the point in trying to make things work. She is just not that desperate and won’t settle.’
True to form, the 26-year- old shocked fans of the show revealing: ‘I hated him from the first hour,’ moments before confessing: ‘I think Deano is an absolute babe.’
Then admitting she would have no problems stealing him from Tracey, this week on the show she will meet up for a secret rendezvous with Dean.
However, it seems that all along, the brunette bombshell viewed Rob as the most amazing father figure. According to Davina it’s not just his good looks that makes him the perfect sperm donor.
‘He is caring and fun, loving, settled and kind,’ says the friend. ‘He would make the perfect dad and she knows that they could co-parent well together, because they have such a great relationship already.’
While Rob is currently single and Davina’s television marriage looks to be over, friends admit that the baby plans are currently on hold.
‘She wants kids before she turns 35,’ the close pal spills. ‘That’s non-negotiable. You don’t see much of her maternal side on TV, but Davina loves kids and sees her future as a mum. So she knows that no matter what happens on the show, that’s the path she will take.’
But worried friends have warned Davina her back-up plan may backfire and begged her to give the new relationships a go.
‘It is a worry that she doesn’t even last three dates,’ says the friend. ‘Maybe she is being too fussy because of her plan and she might just miss the man of her dreams.’
