NEW DETAILS JUST IN – VIDEO REPORT BELOW:

The You’re the Voice star has pulled the pin on his scheduled dates after being struck down by illness. It is believed he suffered an infection after recent surgery, and has struggled with shaking it off since – with doctors advising rest.

Promoters Zaccaria Concerts has confirmed the upcoming gigs are off, revealing, ‘This is due to John’s recent illness from which he is still recovering.’

‘We wish John all the very best for a speedy recovery.’

Ticket refunds will be offered, although the star hopes to reschedule dates for later this year.

The news follows Farnham’s cancellation of his March New Zealand dates.

The star’s manager Glenn Wheatley has moved to head off fears that the illness may be something particularly serious, saying the singer is in the process of recovery after the infection, and is more concerned about putting fans out.

‘I can think of only a handful of shows he’s cancelled in all the many years we’ve worked together,’ he told the Herald Sun.

‘The doctors want to be cautious and have told him to take it easy so we’ve had to reduce his workload to one show per weekend. We hope to make up the cancelled shows later this year.’
