Married At First Sight’s Jessika Power has addressed the claims she’s joining Love Island Australia.

In a statement to New Idea, the 27-year-old confirmed that she won’t be returning to Australian TV screens this year – cancelling out theories of her appearing on the Channel 9 show.

“At the moment I have so many amazing projects in the works that I want to focus on, so the possibility of more reality TV for me this year isn’t in my cards,” she said.

Earlier this month, a report from the Mail Online suggested that Jessika’s new-found singledom conveniently coincided with the announcement that Love Island Australia was confirmed for another season.

Contestants on Love Island are expected to be single in order to take part in the show.

Furthermore, Who reported that the MAFS villain followed Love Island Australia’s Instagram account shortly after revealing that she had split with Nick Furphy.

However, she has since confirmed that she won’t be appearing in the Channel 9 dating show.

Love Island Australia is returning to TV sooner than anticipated.

According to TV Blackbox, the new season will premiere on Monday, October 7 at 8.45 pm on Nine.

Unlike last year, the new season of the dating series will be broadcast on Channel Nine and not 9GO!.

In addition, former Bachelorette Sophie Monk will be hosting, and Irish comic Eoghan McDermott will be narrating.

While the network is yet to reveal the cast, Dr Sam Hay’s wife— who’s a producer on Love Island Australia— told KIIS FM’s Kyle and Jackie O show that they’re “Twice as good as last year. [That’s] mostly [based on] looks, because they haven’t actually sort of really sat down and had a chat with them. Some interesting characters seem to be coming through, too.”
