Collingwood AFL player Travis Varcoe’s sister Margaret has tragically passed away days after sustaining a head injury whilst playing Aussie Rules football.
Margaret was playing for lAngle Vale Football Club when she was involved in a collision. The 27-year-old walked off the field but later collapsed in the dressing room before being rushed to hospital.
Margaret was in coma before the news of her death broke. She was reportedly surrounded by her loved ones at the time of her passing.
Travis sent through a message to AFL Footy Show host Eddie McGuire during Thursday night’s episode.
“Maggie will love getting more air time tonight than her big brother,” he said.
Our thoughts are with the Varcoe Family at this time.#9AFLFootyShow pic.twitter.com/EWO6Ynp1np
