Australian success story and hard-hitting TV show Wentworth is coming back for season 8 and is set to hit our screen between 2020-2021.
According to TV Tonight, the Foxtel drama will be renewed for another 20 episodes, taking the series to a total of 100 episodes since it’s debut in 2013.
As previously reported on WHO, there were several reports that the FOX Showcase series was axed. However, as a result, avid fans launched a petition to “Save Wentworth” and an early priority for incoming Fremantle CEO Chris Oliver-Taylor.
The show which is also on Netflix is based on Reg Watson-created Prisoner, is currently Australia’s longest-running one hour drama, sold to 141 international territories.
Season 7 returns to screens in 2019.
