It’s the Dancing with the Stars showdown no-one saw coming.
Beloved Aussie actress Rebecca Gibney was left unimpressed by host Sonia Kruger after she made some inappropriate comments about her dance partner, Ian Waite.
Sonia made the remarks while interviewing the pair during Sunday night’s episode after they had just performed the Viennese Waltz to Bec’s wedding song, ‘At Last’ by Etta James.
“Is it weird dancing to your wedding song with another man?” Sonia asked Rebecca.
“Yeah, but he [Ian] likes to make the boys wink so it’s okay,” the Packed to the Rafters star responded with a laugh.

But it’s what Sonia said next that really left jaws on the floor.
“Well, I was going to say, it was the perfect song, with the perfect man because he’s tall, he’s dark, he’s handsome and he’s not going to bother you for sex.”
While Bec and Ian appeared to laugh it off and take it all in their stride, our industry insider said it was “quite shocking.”
In fact, it wasn’t long before fans took to social media to call Sonia out.
“Ian’s a beautiful dancer and did NOT deserve that crass comment from Sonia…” one follower commented.
“That was a crude comment, not nice at all,” another added.
Some viewers are even calling for Sonia to apologise.

“I could tell Ian wasn’t happy. Hope he got an apology from Sonia,” shared another unhappy watcher.
This isn’t the first time Sonia’s mouth has landed her in hot water for things she’s said.
While accepting the TV WEEK Gold Logie back in 2023, the 59-year-old made an awkward dig about fellow nominee Hamish Blake, telling the star-filled auditorium that their shared manager had told her that people were getting over the comedian.
“He said, ‘Frankly I am hoping that [Blake] will leave the agency so I can concentrate all of my efforts on you, Sonia,’” she said at the time.
Meanwhile, in 2016, the veteran TV host made headlines when she told Today viewers that she would feel safer in Australia if the borders were closed to Muslims during a controversial segment following a terror attack in Nice, France.
