The photos show the Home and Away star holding a gun and flashing a devilish grin, as well as being tied up to a chair with a gun to his head.
“JACK CAIN… top shelf little short film I was lucky enough to be involved with. Well done to all involved. #aussiewestern#bushrangers #madirishbastard#film #action,” Jake wrote in the caption.
Fans posted comments supporting the Wentworth actor and begged Jake for more details.
“Where/when can we see it?” One user commented.
Jake is no stranger to the action genre and is quickly making a name for himself, having featured in several films and tv shows over recent years.
The Aussie is well known for playing bad-boy Robbo alongside his wife and co-star, Sam Frost in the drama fuelled town of Summer Bay.
You might also recognise Jake from his supporting role as convict Johnny in Wolf Creek.
In addition to this, he played the recurring role of Harry Smith in the hit Foxtel series, Wentworth.
Jake’s character in Wentworth was a violent one, fueled by revenge and an abusive past.
The Home and Away star definitely has a penchant for darker characters and seems made for his role as a bushranger in his upcoming short film.
Home and Away is on Channel Seven at 7 pm, Monday to Thursday.
