Many fans of New Zealand-filmed drama 800 Words may not realise just how connected to the show it’s star Erik Thomson is.
As the season two finale airs tonight, New Idea can reveal the surprising details about Erik’s past.
‘My first ever role was in Auckland with South Pacific Pictures, who makes the show,’ Erik reveals.
‘Now I’m living in Auckland, working in these locations that I love and working with James Griffin who was the writer of the first show I ever did – I’ve known him for 20 years!
Erik adds: ‘I used to play in a band with one of our writers, there are all these connections and it’s just so great. I’ve got to pinch myself every day basically.’
800 Words airs at 9pm on Channel Seven or catch up on Plus 7
