TV and radio favourite Andy Lee has revealed something even his most devoted fans didn’t know: he once dated British superstar Lily Allen, and pined for her so much after she left him behind, that he wrote a song for her.

Appearing on Nova’s Fitzy and Wippa show, Andy opened up on the fling, which happened 13 years ago, after the pair met on his radio show and a subsequent Aussie gig.
‘I went on a few dates with Lily Allen back in the day,’ Andy revealed. ‘Two dates, and I was really into her.
‘She is a superstar and I’m not. It felt Notting Hill.’
Revealing he was left ‘pining’ for the star after she returned home, Andy emailed Lily, ‘and never heard back.’
Hoping he could regain her attention by writing about his feelings in a potential hit song, Andy penned the heartrending Little Things, a tune that was instead fated for total obscurity.
