Tom Arnold – most remembered in Australia as Roseanne’s ex-husband – failed to impress many on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Outta Here. But he had a very good reason to be there.
While he seemed to spend much of the show either sleeping or being an unpleasant grouch, Tom was tempted to leave the Hollywood hills by a very fat pay cheque and the reality that no one in the US would see him lowering himself to doing an Aussie reality show.
Responding to a twitter question about his motivations for doing the show, Tom didn’t mince words.
‘$600k$700k Feed fam? Out of comfort zone.Scared.Embarrassed Almost did Dancing 2 show son I could.NOT seen in USA LuvedPro,Dir,SaferyGuysNet.’
At the higher end, that’s $912,000 Australian dollars.
It might not have been worth the money. Reading between the lines of that list of show staff he loved, it seems he didn’t exactly adore his co-stars!
