Vince Colosimo hits back following drug scandal

The actor breaks his silence.

Australian actor Vince Colosimo has opened up about his new role in Stan’s psychological thriller, The Second, claiming his return to the big screen is anything but a comeback.

Speaking to New Idea, Vince, 51, was quick to shut down those who claimed his latest role was an attempt at redemption following a well-documented drug scandal in early 2017.

‘I don’t view it as a comeback at all,’ the actor divulges. ‘I feel like I never went!’

Vince, who says he enjoyed the solitude and escapism of filming the feature in rural Queensland, explains his frustration with the tabloid created ‘comeback’ moniker.

‘I can’t police the truth. I can’t police what people write,’ he says. ‘I’m here to push a film that is great. If they want to veer it off to something else, then so be it. We’re all voyeuristic in a way.’

The Second, which is now streaming on Stan, also stars Susie Porter, Martin Sacks and Vince’s former Lantana co-star, Rachael Blake.

The reunion made the project even more enjoyable for Vince, who viewed the familiarity as a relief. ‘You know the actors you work with and it’s a joy. It’s comforting,’ he says. ‘You know their body of work is great and there’s an understanding.’
