Jennifer Aniston and Charlize Theron are officially at war, according to a new US report.
Jennifer, who turns 50 in February, was said to be furious when she spotted Charlize – Jen’s ex-husband, Brad Pitt’s rumoured new lover – at LA’s Sunset Tower Hotel, a regular haunt for the former Friends star.
The awkward run in was said to be particularly hard for Jen, who, on the cusp of her 50th birthday next month was said to be on the cusp of reuniting with Brad…until Charlize came along.
With the memory of Angelina Jolie stealing her husband away in 2005 still fresh in her mind, sources tell In Touch that the Dumplin’ actress got into a “heated argument” with Charlize.
“Jen left in tears but Charlize remains unfazed,” the source spilled.
“She’s more successful and respected as an actress in Hollywood, and she’s younger and more beautiful. It’s not surprising that Brad would fall for her. It’s just unfortunate for Jen, because it’s heartbreak for her all over again.”
With her big 5-0 just around the corner and her split from second husband Justin Theroux behind her, Jen is said to have been hoping Brad has grown up and they’d matured as a couple.
Even though Jen and Charlize have been friends throughout the years, insiders say the South African-born actress didn’t feel guilty about poaching Brad.
“Charlize thinks Brad was never really that into Jen anyway and saw their reunion as more of a no-strings-attached fling while they both got over their divorces.”
Brad and Charlize have known each other for years through mutual industry pals, but reportedly grew close while working together on a recent photo shoot for Breitling watches.
