Today show host Georgie Gardner has taken a very subtle dig at former co-host Karl Stefanovic, and the Ubergate scandal of last year.
In a now infamously leaked phone call Karl made in an Uber where he said Georgie was ‘sitting on the fence’, radio host Mick Molloy took a moment to remind Gardner of the incident following Uber’s unveiling of it’s ‘quiet mode’ feature for passengers, pointing out that the feature would have come in handy for the Stefanovic brothers last year.
Tweeting at the 48-year-old breakfast show anchor, Molloy wrote: “It’s probably something the Stefanovic’s should do,” to which Gardner replied, “Ya reckon?!”
The tweet refers to an incident in Mach, 2018 where Peter Stefanovic had his brother Karl on speakerphone during a phone call in the back of an Uber car, in which the pair discussed their colleagues.
Discussing the rumoured feud following Ubergate in January this year, Georgie insisted she has nothing but ‘love and respect’ for her former co-host, telling Stellar magazine, “There was never any hate… We have a very solid friendship. There’s love, there’s respect, there’s a lot of goodwill.”
