Olivia Newton-John confirms she’s feeling well following the announcement of her breast cancer diagnosis

Things are looking up for our Olivia!

Earlier this year Australian actress Olivia Newton John revealed she was battling breast cancer for the second time and now she’s shared a happy healthy update.

‘I am no longer in pain and happy to say I am working again,’ the 69-year-old told Closer Weekly.

Even though the singer has been diagnosed with the illness she overcame 25 years ago, Newton-John refuses to give up her music and tells the publication she aims to stay connected with her huge fan base.

‘When I get to sing the songs I love, it’s like a gift,’ said Newton-John. ‘Being on the road with my band has been healing for me. Of course, it was scary. But the words that came to my mind were, ‘This too shall pass!’ I just had to believe that I was going to be OK.’

The ‘Grease’ actress also opened up about how she’s learned to form a positive relationship with herself.

‘I talked to my body,’ Newton-John explained. ‘I affirmed that I was healthy and strong. Depression suppresses your immune system. I tried to get my mind off my troubles by focusing on the things that I am passionate about.’

In May this year, Newton-John spoke to Fox News and told the news site that the back pain which initially caused her to postpone the first half of her concert tour was later revealed to be breast cancer that had spread to the sacrum.

‘I decided on my direction of therapies after consultation with my doctors and natural therapists and the medical team at my Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness and Research Centre in Melbourne, Australia,’ she wrote.
