He shocked fans by breaking the hearts of both finalists on The Bachelor.
And now producers are demanding Nick “The Honey Badger” Cummins joins the Bachelor in Paradise line-up to “redeem himself”.
“The pressure is on and they are really trying to strong-arm him into this,” says our source. “In many ways Nick is partly blamed for Ali’s low ratings [in The Bachelorette] and making the franchise a laughing stock.”
But after the public backlash the sports star received when he confessed he was not ready to settle down – in what’s been dubbed the most dramatic finale to date – he has genuine concerns about returning to TV.
In another turn of events, Nick has relayed to the network bosses that while he is still officially single he has really hit it off with chicken heiress Lucy Steggles and wants to see where their future may go.
“They haven’t given up,” says the insider.
“They have been chucking ridiculous financial offers his way and just figure he will crack eventually.”
And, according to the source, the situation has mirrored that of Tara Pavlovic who headed to Fiji after months of negotiations.
“There is a good chance Nick may make an appearance.”
