Married At First Sight’s Martha Kalifatidis has offered a reasonable explanation for her former co-star Elizabeth Sobinoff dramatic weight loss.

Fans of Sobinoff recently voiced concern over the reality star’s sudden fluctuation after she shared a photo of herself looking particularly slim on Instagram.
According to The Daily Mail, one fan wrote: “[She’s] looking so thin and sick, hope all is OK. Hopefully, you can put some kilos back on. This does not look good on you.”
Another commented: “No-one is being nasty or horrible, just stating the facts. Lizzie has a warm, generous soul, however, I would be worried if she was my daughter. She doesn’t look well, but if she’s happy that’s all that matters.”
Recently, her MAFS co-star, Martha spoke out about the response the reality star had received on the photo.
Kalifatidis told the Daily Mail that the reality star has an autoimmune disease that provokes weight loss.
“I don’t think there is anything to worry about. I think she looks great and wasn’t it a year ago that people were calling her fat?,” the 31-year-old said.
“And now they are saying she’s too skinny. Just leave her alone, it’s her body and she can do what she wants with it… I’m pretty sure she was quite open about having health issues, so maybe that has something to do with it?” Kalifatidis continued.
“Maybe instead of everyone just saying, ‘Oh she’s [too skinny],’ dig into it a little bit more and you’ll learn or find out the truth.”
When Sobinoff first appeared on Married At First Sight, she was paired with Sam Ball, who controversially fat-shamed her on her wedding day.
At the time, the tradesman said he didn’t “usually date girls her size.”
Following her split from her MAFS husband, the 27-year-old shed 10kg, telling NW magazine that she loved her body “at any size.”
According to the Daily Mail, Sobinoff will be appearing on the next season of Married At First Sight as an “intruder bride” in the upcoming season.
