Kyle Sandilands has announced that his 99-year-old grandmother, Sybil Sandilands, has passed away.
The radio host announced the news on the Kyle and Jackie O Show on Wednesday morning, revealing he received the sad news at 3am.
Sandilands also revealed his grandmother was ‘less than one year off making 100.’
He said: ‘No letter [from Queen Elizabeth, who congratulates those who celebrate the milestone birthday of 100].
‘Queen Elizabeth was poised to sign the letter and now no letter.’
He continued: ‘I was only thinking about her on the weekend, coz she’s so old. 99. I thought I better go and see her.’
Kyle then urged his listeners to keep in touch with their grandparents.
‘You should visit them. Everyone,’ he urged. ‘Even though they’re so boring and they smell weird, you gotta go there.’
