Jennifer Aniston has spoken candidly on the complicated relationship she has with her late mum, Nancy Dow.
The actress and her mother were embroiled in a feud for years after Jen cut ties with Nancy after she released a tell-all book back in 1999.
Though they did eventually patch things up, their relationship remained strained right up until her mum passed away in 2016.

Now the 49-year-old Friends star is playing a “mum obsessed with beauty” in a new movie, much to the despair of her daughter, who is battling with her weight, revealing she was drawn to the role as it “resonated” with her.

“I did not come out the model child she’s hoped for and it was something that really resonated with me,” Jen told the Sunday Telegraph.

“This little girl just wanting to be loved by a mum that was too occupied with things that didn’t quite matter.”

Jen previously spoke about her mother in an interview with the Hollywood Reporter in 2015.

“She was critical. She was very critical of me. Because she was a model, she was gorgeous, stunning. I wasn’t. I never was,” Jen said.

Jen’s new Netflix movie Dumplin’ is based on the 2015 book by Willowdean Dickson, a “self-proclaimed fat girl” whose mum is a former beauty queen and a well-known figure on the local pageant circuit — and who has affectionately dubbed her daughter ‘Dumplin’.
