It was a case of Neighbours becoming good friends when Jason Donovan rushed to the rescue of a woman who suffered a nasty fall near the 80s superstar’s Notting Hill, London, townhouse.

Jason took charge of the scene as he tended to the woman, who is understood to have hit her head heavily on the pavement. Following some tense minutes, she reportedly came to, only to recognise the Too Many Broken Hearts singer as he was supporting her head.
‘Jason was with her for around 15 minutes until the paramedics arrived,’ says a witness. ‘He stayed with her while they treated her on the pavement, but the other bystanders left.’
The former pop favourite placed the woman in the recovery position and braced her neck.
‘It looked like he was on the phone to [the ambulance] while they were waiting,’ says the onlooker. ‘I think he went home to get some ice because he was holding a bag of it against her cheek.
‘She had a very nasty, large bruise from where she had fallen.’
Recovering from the fall, the woman shook his hand to thank him.
The star, who is returning to the West End in Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, said he was just happy to help the woman. She is said to have reached out to him through friends since, to thank him again.
‘I’m no hero,’ he told The Sun. ‘I did what any responsible citizen would have done. I just wanted to help someone in need.’
