Sophie Dillman (Ziggy Astoni) and Patrick O’Connor (Dean Thompson) are one of Summer Bay’s hottest new couples.
Speaking to New Idea, the co-stars reveal what it’s really like to film THOSE steamy love scenes on the long running Australian soap, and their idea of the perfect winter date night.
Best date you’ve ever been on?
Patrick: A date in Melbourne’s Fitzroy Park on a summer afternoon. It was beautiful.
Sophie: I’ve been lucky to have some great dates – all have included an adventure.
Ingredients for the perfect winter date night?
Sophie: Good food and a big coat. And cooking at home is always really fun.
Patrick: Netflix and ice-cream.
What’s it really like filming love scenes?
Patrick: It depends on who you’re working with, but usually it’s no stress. A funny moment was when I was once filming on the beach during summer and we both got the ‘sweat-mo’.
Kissing when you both have one proves to be an interesting experience!
Sophie: When we went to Parachilna, for the shower scene that we filmed, I didn’t actually get to shower so I was covered in stinky, smelly mud the whole time. Poor Paddy!
Who is your all-time favourite Home and Away couple?
Sophie: John (Shane Withington) and Marilyn (Emily Symons).
Patrick: John and Maz – for sure.
What romantic advice would you give your character?
Sophie: Don’t let fear get in the way.
Patrick: Take it slow and trust yourself, Dean!
