At the grand final, Sonia Kruger let it slip that the series may not return, and the lack of promo for 2019 has led Delta Goodrem to realise her worst fears.
‘Delta picked up on all this and was visibly upset at the wrap party,’ the source spilled.
‘Runners of the show tried to console her by saying we are just resting it for one to two years, but she is absolutely freaking out about losing her job,’ they added.
According to the source, The Voice really breathed new life into her career and she’s used it to promote new music.
‘Plus, it’s a steady pay cheque,’ they said.
The 33-year-old has not had it easy and her recent work has fallen flat with fans. But despite the backlash, in an interview with Stellar magazine the singer remained positive.
‘Unfortunately we’re living in a time when the negative view is what gets the most oxygen. It’d be nice if clickbait was positive. It’d be nice if it was even half and half – I’d settle for 50/50,’ she confessed to the publication.
‘I know life can’t be a bed of roses. I take on the fact I’m always learning. I don’t profess to be perfect at anything. I just do my very best. I’m a hard worker,’ she added.
The Born To Try hitmaker also insisted that despite the nasty backlash she still has strength in the market.
‘I wouldn’t have been around this long if I didn’t genuinely have lovely connections with people. The [backlash on social media] is actually quite boring. It’s not even a conversation for me anymore – except for the fact that I don’t get why people are wasting their time.

Delta has often faced the brunt of criticisms in the past, with everything from her ‘diva’ behaviour on The Voice Australia to her performances on stage.
But she has always remained irreverent about any negativity from trolls and haters.
Perhaps it has to do with the fact that at just 18 she was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, which she admitted helped her perform in Olivia Newton-John: Hopelessly Devoted To You.
‘As an artist, you definitely draw from your own experiences. There was something cathartic about it. I did have to open up some cuts within me,’ she told the Sydney Morning Herald.
The Sydney-born musician, TV star and actress also said that she still tries to help people suffering from the disease when she can.
‘I’ll spend 40 minutes on the phone with a kid in a battle with cancer. I get so many messages about [people] going through the battle,’ she told Stellar.
‘If I can even slightly improve someone’s day by talking to them – having a real conversation and hopefully giving them some strength – that’s a beautiful thing.’

Meanwhile, despite fears of her career starting to spiral downwards, Delta continues to expand her horizons and this month she launched her very own perfume, named Dream.
‘I believe that this is authentic to my brand,’ she told News Corp.
‘I don’t put my name to [just] anything,’ she added.
‘I believe in quality and want to make sure it really is something that feels authentic.’
