David Beckham says marriage to Victoria Beckham is “hard work”

Leaving his wife rattled.

After hearing what David Beckham said on The Sunday Project, his wife Victoria Beckham checked herself into a wellness clinic. Now we look at the interview that rattled Posh Spice.

After 19 years of marriage, they’ve certainly faced their fair share of issues. When the sporting great sat down with Lisa Wilkinson on The Sunday Project, he decided to speak out about their relationship.

I think marriage is always about hard work,” the 43-year-old said.

“You know your children, they want your time and they deserve your time, and we are hard working and we feel that is the right way to bring up our children. To prove and to show them that actually, you have to work really hard to be successful.”

The Beckhams share four children – Brooklyn, 19, Romeo, 16, Cruz, 13, and seven year-old Harper.

“You know, we’ve been married for a long time now and recently did a Vogue front cover, which was all about Victoria’s 10 years in fashion,” he gushed.

“The amount she’s achieved in such a short space of time… four beautiful young children, you know, we have a beautiful dog. But obviously in her business world, to be on the front cover of Vogue, er, was a huge thing. “

“And then we did a separate picture for another cover, but to have been married for the amount of time we have, it’s always hard work. Everybody knows that.”

“You make it work, you make difficult situations… er, like travelling away, being away from each other, you make it work.”

The sporting great, who is currently Down Under with his entire family for the Invictus Games, touched on his parenting style.

I know I’m slightly stricter with the boys than I am with Harper to be honest,” he said.

“The boys rip me about it all the time. Victoria rips me about it all the time.”
