Unlike last year, this season saw 20 fresh teams of two  race around not only Australia, but Africa, Europe, Asia, South America and North America in an attempt to claim the biggest prize in Amazing Race Australia history.

While Coronavirus continues to make travelling difficult and contestants will have to navigate a post-COVID world, this year’s teams are ready to take on anything!

But, of course, there can only be one pair who will come out on top – so be sure to check out below to keep up to date with which teams are eliminated each episode.

The premiere episode saw our first 10 teams set off from Melbourne on the trip of a lifetime.

Ripping open the first envelope, teams soon realised they’d actually be leaving the country immediately and landing in Morocco. Racing as soon as they touched down, teams were faced with a spice-tasting challenge, with some sharing answers to get themselves ahead of the pack.

Next up was the Detour which saw folding laundry and guessing the price of dates.

They then were asked to leap through fire and burst through a brick wall, all while dressed as a mummy, with the challenge proving to be too much for Rachel.

Opting to take a penalty and pause for half an hour, Paul and Rachel moved on to a difficult riddle, only to meet Beau on the mat in last place, sadly leaving The Race on the first leg.

The second set of teams were off and racing from Sydney in Tuesday’s episode of The Amazing Race Australia, unaware that the race had already started!

Getting mucky in the Marrakesh rain, cabs were stolen and rivals were created as the loveable Vegan Warriors and their lack of direction missed their first clue.

With pots finally moved from one end of the market to the other, cups were counted and a restless night’s sleep had before an epic Roadblock to taste some extremely old preserved lemons.

But when it came to the next task of skinning goat hides in the traditional manner, animals lovers Bren and Anja realised The Race was harder on their morals than expected and they opted to take the penalty, which ultimately saw them arrive at the Pit Stop in last place and get eliminated from The Amazing Race Australia.

In a world first for Racers across the globe, 18 teams descended on Morocco’s Chefchaouen and realised they weren’t the only teams in the race.

Heading to the town square, teams got dizzy spinning a tassel attached to a Fez. Proving it’s anyone’s game, The Dragon Boat mums Jodie and Claire took out the win and ended the day on a high.

Waking up and heading to Aladdin’s Cave of Soap, teams began to realise the way forward was to work together to build a specific soap stack. With Melbourne teams sticking together they were ahead of the pack and onto painting the steps of Chefchaouen blue.

With the final hurdle seeing teams matching similar doors to their photos, it was Jake and Holly who finished in first place – however, they incurred a half-hour penalty for quitting the Fez challenge – and with all other teams arriving in quick succession, Jake and Holly were eliminated from The Race.

Travelling to a very frozen Athens in Greece, teams were shocked not only by the weather but by how quickly some succeeded in shooting bows and arrows at a target to get to the next challenge.

At the Detour, some teams chose to Step Up and learn a Greek marching routine or Step Down to make Greek sandals and compete in a three-legged race.

With it definitely not being sandal weather in Greece, it was Step Up that saw teams head to the front of the pack.

In the end, it was Angel and Frankie who hit the mat in first place, with Sam and Alex landing in final place and being eliminated from The Race.

Arriving in Arachova Greece to freezing temperatures, the teams raced to participate in their own Big Greek Wedding, suiting up and dressing in white while pinning 10,000 Euro to the bride’s dress. Once successfully spun around three times without dropping cash, they received their next clue.

With a blizzard brewing and the ski slope closed for safety, the teams had to pivot from dropping balls into a target from a chairlift to building a snowman, but despite their best efforts, all teams struggled to make their snowman the correct height.

After a bus ride back into town, the teams were released in the order they completed the snowman challenge, followed by a two-kilometre foot race to Beau at the Pit Stop.

Pako and Mori checked in first with Sam and Stu struggling with the final run and landing on the mat last, eliminating them from the race.

With Teams leaving Greece and heading to Izmir, Turkey (now known as Türkiye), they left behind one crucial element in the form of host Beau Ryan, who was isolating due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Forging ahead, Teams hit the ground running and got their shimmies on with a modern twist on a belly dance, complete with floating Isis wings.

During a challenge, Kelly and Georgia pointed out that Crystal and Reem weren’t completing the challenge properly so they had to start again, sending them to the end of the pack and getting eliminated from The Race.

Continuing to travel across Turkey, the teams were welcomed by not only an automatic car, but also with a phone containing navigation!

Scientific Siblings Tammy and Vincent were in two minds about arriving at the mat last. Vincent tried to remain hopeful, while Tammy tried to prepare themselves for elimination

With Beau still in isolation, the one and only Scott Tweedie flew halfway across the world to step in at the Pit Stop, saying goodbye to Tammy and Vincent who couldn’t quite nail the dancing Detour.

Turkey’s Alaçati, situated on its turquoise coast, was the setting for tonight’s ninth leg of The Amazing Race Australia.

Angel and Frankie got a good head start and were onto the Detour to try their hand at driving a sports car on the water.

Nailing the turbo challenge, the pair were on to smash their faces into bowls of sugar to find Turkish Delight.

With Flick and Gabby hot on their heels, it was Angel and Frankie who found Scott Tweedie at the Pit Stop by mere minutes, with Morgan and Lilli arriving last and ultimately eliminated from The Race.

Heading into Cartagena, Colombia, this episode was emotionally draining for the pair as they entered the orphanage.

Stuart fought back tears as he spoke about his childhood and losing his parents, including being away from his daughter.

After struggling to complete the final challenge, Glennon and Stuart decide to take a time penalty but were ultimately last to arrive at the pit stop.

The Amazing Race Australia continues Sunday At 7.30pm On 10 And 10 Play.
