The Bachelorette 2018 Episode 3: Angry gladiators, cringeworthy dance routines and aspiring fashionistas

It's an action packed episode!

After the last episode’s antics, it’s hard to say who’s in the running to win The Bachelorette’s Ali Oetjen’s heart.

So far, she’s played tonsil hockey with Charlie, Bill, Rob…

But in episode four, it’s lucky Rob who wins the single date. Charlie is uneasy. After all, he’s already confessed true love after his one date.

Ali meanwhile can’t stop gushing about what a good kisser Rob is and is keen to find out if things can progress further.

She decides to take him boating and Rob can’t stop enthusing about her outfit. ‘She’s wearing this blue jeans and gorgeous velvety top,’ he says like a true fashionista.

They arrive on Cockatoo Island and they decide to do some painting in a bid to leave behind the mistakes of the past.

Ali rambles on about how she can’t stop falling in love so fast, Rob agrees.

‘Falling fast isn’t bad as long as you use your head at the same time,’ he says philosophically.

Ali paints ‘naïve’ first on the canvas. Then Rob paints ‘manipulate’, it’s all a bit arty and meaningful.

Back at the mansion Ivan appears to still be dancing and Osher arrives to handover the group date for Todd to announce.

He spills that the Bachelors face a Gladiator style chariot race and a beastly wrestle in order to win the coveted prize: alone time with Ali. The boys grunt in delight.

Meanwhile Ali and Rob drive through their problem words and smash the canvas. Ali gets all gooey eyed and can’t help snog him again.

They sit down for wine and cheese and Ali makes a relish for Robert with his Nonna’s sauce. Rob decides he’s starting to develop feelings for her.

They’re kissing again. Ali admits there’s instant comfort with him and hints that she’s falling for him (already!) and he scores a rose.

‘When I look into Robert’s eyes all I can think about is one thing… let’s get in on!’ Ali purrs.

It’s time for the group date and Ali rocks up in her Romanesque outfit and Paddy says something different for a change.

‘She looks FIT…’ he drools.

Meanwhile Ali’s eyes are popping out of her sockets at the sight of the muscle bound boys dressed in Gladiator style outfits.

Rob can’t stop talking about his red cape.

Next the boys compete in the challenge Charlie is in Bill’s team and he’s getting frustrated they’re not working together as a team.

The boys then compete in a game of tug of war, and Charlie sees it his chance to criticise Bill again. ‘Bill is just out for himself,’ he laments.

Bill’s tactics don’t work in any case and dancing Ivan wins the single date.

Ali is keen to find out if they both have any chemistry and whether she should friend zone him or not.

Ivan confesses he wants five kids in five years. Ali starts to panic.

He then digs his hole deeper and says he wants to go to the US and asks if she would go with him. Ali retracts even further and establishes there is not personality connection. He is friend zoned.

It’s time for the cocktail party. Rob talks about fashion again. He notices her gorgeous green gown.

Ivan meanwhile is disappointed he didn’t impress Ali on his alone time and decides to choreograph her a special dance.

Bill on the other hand is sneaking around and steals Ali away from Taite. The boys complain that he’s a snake, with Charlie stirring the pot.

Ivan decides to bust out his dance to lighten the mood. Ali looks impressed. Charlie is not. He jumps on Bill and starts to fight with him about his motives.

‘You’re here for yourself!’ Charlie screams at Bill.

Thankfully, it’s time for the rose ceremony and Charlie is hoping Bill gets voted off. Osher announces that two men are getting sent home tonight.

Ivan is hoping his dance routine has kept him safe. Thankfully it did and he accepts his rose with a little shuffle.

Charlie gets annoyed Bill gets a rose.

Then sadly, another long-haired lothario called Wesley and the security guard called Damien go home. Bye boys…
