Meghan Markle has finally come face-to-face with King Charles and Queen Camilla, but New Idea hears the meeting came with an ominous warning.

The Duchess of Sussex, 44, quietly brought her children, Archie, seven, and Lilibet, five, to the UK to reunite with the British monarchs for the first time in four years.

However, insiders tell us that Meghan was warned that if any leaks about the closed-door reunion occurred, it would put an end to any future meetings.

“Camilla stuck to Charles like glue, not giving Harry any chance to guilt-trip his father, but her true mission was to put Meghan in her place and establish a new set of rules should they continue renewing relations,” our source dishes.”

“She made it clear that this was for Archie and Lilibet, but if there were any leaks about their meeting, the door would be closed forever.”

“No one believes Meghan will be able to stick to this agreement, but Harry and Meghan are well aware this is a ‘test of their loyalties’, and if they wish to continue being Royals, it has to be in the King’s interests.”

This, no doubt, explains why no photographs have emerged from the private meeting, with Meghan and her two children not even having been pictured on UK soil.

In fact, Prince Harry was the only one to emerge publicly during the fleeting five-day visit for a string of Invictus Games appearances, with an unusual silence otherwise surrounding the visit.

The Sussexes are believed to have met with Charles and Camilla at Highgrove House, though Prince William apparently wasn’t in attendance, despite being a mere two-hour drive away at the time.

New Idea hears that Harry is already planning the next family reunion and wants to bring Archie and Lilibet back to the UK for a royal family Christmas, whether or not William gets on board with the idea.

“Harry’s determined not to let this visit be a one-off, and obviously the King’s diary has to be arranged well in advance, so he’s already started speaking to his father about when they should meet next,” our insider shares.

“In his view, Christmas would be the perfect opportunity to bring the children and Meghan back for another visit.”

“Fact is, he always gets very homesick at that time of year; he misses being a part of all their traditions, and he would love Archie and Lilibet to experience a proper royal Christmas and finally meet more of the extended family, whether that’s at Sandringham or wherever Charles decides is best.”

“Harry knows William will react badly to the whole idea, but he simply doesn’t care what his brother thinks when it comes to his family.”

“If he wants to be nasty about it and turn it into some sort of ugly confrontation, Harry can’t stop him, but he’s not going to let William dictate the terms of when his children spend time with their grandfather.”

“As far as he’s concerned, if Charles wants him there, that’s all the encouragement he needs to keep moving forward.”

“If it sends William into a meltdown, or they end up coming to blows, so be it. He’s not going to be bullied.”

While Harry has been open about his desire to reconcile with his family, it appears he may still have some way to go before seeing William face-to-face again.
