With the world counting down the days until the arrival of Baby Sussex, which is expected around the end of April or early May, Meghan Markle’s uncle has revealed which gender baby the Duchess would prefer.
According to reports, Joseph Johnson, who is Meghan’s mother’s half-brother – they had different fathers but shared the same mother, and were raised together – has spoken out about his niece’s preference for a girl.
He believes Meghan will be quietly hoping her baby is a girl because a boy would present ‘more of a challenge’ to her.
Joseph told the Daily Mail: “I think she probably wants a girl. I’m sure Harry wants a boy. A daughter would be a real comfort to Meghan.”
The royal couple have been cagey about the gender of their unborn child, and it’s unknown whether they have chosen to find out the sex of the baby, or whether they’ll wait for the surprise.
While 37-year-old Meghan is not always one to follow royal protocol, and is even said to be opting for a water birth, she may have followed British tradition not to find out the sex of her baby in advance and to instead opt for a surprise.
