Princess Eugenie is set to marry Jack Brooksbank at St George’s Chapel in Windsor on October 12.
It has been speculated that her husband-to-be will be granted a title upon the couple’s marriage. However, royal experts have claimed this might not be the case.
Many reported Jack would be granted the title, Earl of Northallerton, which is currently vacant, upon marrying Eugenie, but palace sources have revealed the royal family may decide not to give him one.
If the Royal Family decide to not grant Jack a title, he will technically remain a ‘commoner’. If this is the case, Princess Eugenie will then be known as HRH Princess Eugenie, Mrs Jack Brooksbank.
A source told Mail Online, ‘Eugenie couldn’t care less about titles and is perfectly happy to be Mrs Brooksbank.’
Unlike her cousins Prince William, and Prince Harry, Eugenie has never been a ‘working royal.’
This means that while Eugenie does attend royal events, she does so out of choice and is not obliged to.
Recently, Eugenie has come under fire by royal fans for ‘copying’ details of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding for her own.
Along with the Windsor Castle location, Eugenie and Jack have decided to invite members of the public to witness their big day.
In an official statement, Kensington Palace revealed: ‘Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie of York and Mr. Jack Brooksbank will invite members of the public to join in the celebrations of their wedding on Friday 12th October.
‘The couple are delighted to announce an opportunity for 1,200 people from across the United Kingdom to be invited into the grounds of Windsor Castle to share the experience of their special day.’
Similarly to Harry and Meghan, the newlyweds will also undertake a short carriage procession through Windsor High Street.
‘The carriage will process through the grounds of Windsor Castle, departing via Castle Hill to proceed along part of the High Street before returning to the Castle via Cambridge Gate,’ the statement read.
Another similarity comes as representatives of charities beloved by Eugenie and Jack will also be in attendance.
The statement said: ‘Also present in the Castle Grounds will be representatives of charities supported by Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank, together with members of the Windsor community and children from the local schools which Her Royal Highness attended. Residents of Windsor Castle and a number of Royal Household staff will also be present.’
