During the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s 16-day Royal Tour, Meghan was spotted sporting a very different fashion accessory – a pasta necklace.
The moment quickly went viral after the story of the sweet gift was discovered.
Six-year-old Gavin Hazelwood waited in Melbourne to catch a glimpse of the royal couple. Dressed in a Qantas pilot uniform, the youngster was lucky enough to personally hand his gift to the duchess.
Markle proudly donned the necklace with her navy Dion Lee dress until she arrived at a formal reception inside Government House.

Gavin told Fairfax Media after the event, “I did the pasta with gold paint. Mum helped me thread through the necklace.”
Now, Kate Ritchie has taken a note out of Meghan’s book.
Taking to Instagram, the former Home And Away star noted that Gavin had gifted her a replica of Meghan’s pasta necklace.
Ritchie wrote, “You may remember my average attempt to take a style cue from six year old #gavinhazelwood and follow in the fashion footsteps of the Duchess of Sussex by constructing my own pasta necklace.
“I chickened out even wearing it…Well, thanks to Gavin I now have my very own replica of the real deal. Gold paint and all!”
Fans quickly flocked to Kate’s hilarious video.
“What a little legend…” one wrote, with another adding, “This made me cry.”
A third echoed, “That’s amazing well done Gavin. What a privilege to receive such a beautiful gift to treasure.”
