MKR Colin Fassnidge’s close call after dogs almost mauled to death

The reality star was also injured in the attack.

Colin Fassnidge has appealed to police after an incident at his home that nearly resulted in death.

The Irish My Kitchen Rules star took to Instagram to share images of his two pet pooches, Ellie, three, a dalmatian, and Brann, six, a shih tzu, at the vets after they were mauled by three larger dogs.

The incident happened on Sunday in the Sydney suburb of Maroubra with the reality star, who was also injured in the attack, calling out officials for not doing more and added that “soon there will be a fatality.”

Colin wrote: “While opening my house door to load my dogs into my car, they were set upon by three mixed breed dogs and dragged to the street where the dogs proceeded to hold [them] down and all three attacked [them] biting [and] ripping.

“This is the third attack and worst from the same dogs, [it’s the] second time NSW Police have come out to the scene (and I thank them).

“It took five adults to get my dogs free. The owners of the dogs seen [what happened] and left my dogs to die in the gutter, no remorse, no call in to see if [they were] OK later that night.

“Dogs are not born killers, it’s how they are brought up, so if [they are] brought up by grubs …,” he trailed off.

Colin continued: “After the attack a young girl aged about 10 with a new puppy walked past and I realised how much worse it could have been – a puppy, a child and three 40kg dogs.”

He said he called the council after each attack and added, “the ball is in your court because soon there will be a fatality.”

He said also had to seek urgent medical for his leg and his back.

“I will not let this rest for the fear of my children and my friend’s kids who live here, I do not blame the dogs I blame the owners,” Colin said.

Ryan “Fitzy” Fitzgerald wrote under the post, “That’s s***house Fass, hope they’re doing alright.”

While fellow foodie Melissa Leong wrote: “I’m so sorry to hear this, Fassy. I hope the owners are made to face their responsibilities as pet owners and members of your community.”

Rachel Khoo added: “Oh how awful! Sending the whole family lots of love.”
