There is no denying last season’s Married at First Sight was jam- packed with drama. From tears and tantrums to multiple couple swaps, fans were often left gobsmacked by the shocking behaviour of the newlyweds.
Now, New Idea can reveal this year’s line-up will be even more dramatic. From a secret couple no-one knows about, to a breakdown that sees one blushing bride rushed to hospital, our insider uncovers the shocking stories everyone will be talking about.
Only Two Last
While most couples have already called it quits on their short-lived marriages there is still some happy news.
With two couples declaring their love for one another in an emotional season finale, our spies say that despite the odds they are still together in newly-wedded bliss and can’t wait to go public with their relationships.
“The experts had to really work hard at their matches this year because so many people have broken up from all the other seasons,” says the spy. “In fact, it’s only Erin and Bryce left together which, after that many weddings, is not good odds.”
Bride Rushed To Hospital
This year, producers have been accused of pushing one bride too far.
So upset with her unsuitable match after realising they had nothing in common and she couldn’t stand to be near him, she had a serious panic attack and was rushed to hospital.
“They didn’t just not get along – they clashed big time,” says the source. “And while the producers loved the reworks it created with huge arguments and constant bickering, it was actually too much for her.”
Secret Couples Kept Hidden
While the new unlucky-in- love brides and grooms have now been revealed, with each one desperately hoping to nd true love, all is not as it seems.
Behind the scenes are another two couples who also took part in the dating experiment, marrying complete strangers. But producers decided to shake things up this season by sending them into hiding.
“It’s really weird, because two other couples get married but they are not introduced to the others,” says the spy. “To begin with, they don’t attend any of those drunken dinner parties or the group counselling sessions.”
Bringing them in part way through the show to cause maximum drama left the other couples furious at being kept in the dark.
“The other participants had no idea that there were more weddings,” says the spy. “And it was really awkward when they just appeared.”
Partner Swap
Forget Dean and Davina, this season MAFS promises not just one but a few partner swaps throughout the season.
“This season is next level,” our source reveals.
“And the best thing is, you won’t expect who swaps and you certainly won’t see it coming.”
In fact, New Idea can reveal one of the partner swaps causes so much tension that one groom storms off and refuses to be part of the experiment.
